Gut healing stewed fruits

Apples and pears are rich in pectin. Pectin helps to reduce inflammation in the gut and  stimulates the growth and activity of beneficial bacteria. 

Ingredients

5 apples
2 pears
180ml water
Small handful of raisins
1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon

Method

Cut up apples and pears into chunks, keep skins on (this is where most of the pectin is) and add to a saucepan.  Add rest of the ingredients.
Cool slowly till fruit is soft and falling apart, about 15-20min. Use a potato masher to mash the fruit into a course textured mixture.
In a slow cooker – slow cook for 3 hrs.
